Looking for a large zytel general purpose folder. Looking at large Goddard, Magna, or CRKT M16-04 all with plain edge.
Looking for some feedback from owners.

thanks

Go for the Endura. In the bang for the buck realm, you can't beat it. I prefer the plain edge myself, and have bought them in bulk at Spydies seconds sales when I lived in Golden.

Stryver

I'd go with the Magna

You can't beat an Endura if you get the endura 98 with the metal pocket clip ad ATS55 blade. Its cheap(in price not quality)and a very solid knife. I'd go for the combo edge. You can polish the plain edge section down to a very smooth scary sharp edge that shaves better than a bic. If only we didn't have to worry about cutting are ears off

notice I said very smooth though, it will polish down fine enough that it won't slice things very well like rope, The comboedge lets you have the best of both worlds. Shaving sharp polished edge and a good slicing edge. check them out a northwest cutlery. i think I remember them having a good price on them, sorry don't have the URL.

Fix it right the first time, use Baling Wire !

I have a large CRKT M16 I would not consider it the best for "general' purpose, I would go for the magna, or spend BIG money and get the real deal! Of course, you can't go wrong with anything from Spyderco. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

Consider CS's line of Voyagers. Not pricey, damn sturdy, take a good edge, solid locks, cut as good as anything.

I would go for the Goddard.

have a"knife"day

Try a clip point Voyager from CS. 4 or 5 inch blade, SHARP, and the blade is very versatile. In the same price range as Spyderco, but IMO is a more sturdy, durable knife. Also pretty lightweight due to zytel handles.

Well, i can put in another good word about the Endura. Awesome knife for the money! I had one back in the aus-8a steel days, and i used it for everything, including using the tip to open paint cans! It stayed sharp, had solid lock up and fit perfectly in my hand. Great knife, great price.

Sticking with your list, you can't go wrong with either the Magna or the M16-4. I have them both in aluminum. For all around use, the Magna has the most comfortable handle by far for my average hands. Both come very sharp, and the CRKT does have the "flipper" which allows very quick deployment. If either one of these appeals to you, you will be satisfied with whichever one you choose.(If you open up the competition, there are MANY more great choices!)
