Hey all,

Is the Large Heavy Bowie also taken off production? Is it because from the sales point compared to the BK 9 or something else. Just wondering why as it was much better compared to the big brother.

No known reason why, most likely, lackluster sales for a variety of reasons. But yes, it's history - gone from Kabar's site and Tomars both. Probably a few running around somewhere.

i love hiden tang knives that are more user friendly than full length and width tang's , so when large heavy bowie in production i get one .;)

I've had one forever, it's a beauty. My first one's tip snapped off when I was digging for fatwood, then for fun I posted a video of me snapping the remainder of the blade off in a vice (I thought it would be interesting to see how much it would take, oh and I was drinking so luckily I didn't get LHB shards in my nethers). KA-BAR (Paul Tsujimoto) sent me a replacement. Can you believe how great those guys are as far as care and feeding of Beckerheads?

I've got this beaut up on the exchange, though, because it's just sitting on a shelf and that makes me sad. I like the Moses Bowie better, so my LHB will never get used again and I'd rather it be out getting enjoyed by a new owner than sitting.

I played around with my LHB a wee bit smacking some hard wood. Maybe it was just me but I caught alot of vibration thru the handle. No gloves on.
But I enjoy carrying it because it is alot of blade and not much weight in my pack.
