Here's a hunter I'm finishing up. Its the first knife I ground on my new grinder, first time I've used maple for scales, and first time I've done bolsters in a few years.
Specs:
Blade: 1/8" O1 , 3-3/4" long. Hollow ground on a 10" wheel.
Scales: Curly Maple, considered "good" grade where I bought it. (I got 6 board feet of it an it all looks like this :D ) Finished with 3 coats of danish oil.
Bolsters are brass and dovetailed
Pins are brass, and so is the thong hole.
No sheath yet, I'm not putting kydex on this
The filework is a modification of the vine pattern I've been doing. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and the change only added 10-15 minutes.

Still needs sharpened and a few little things I might try to touch up.

EDIT: I really wish you could see this part better. The vine sprouts from the middle of the handle and runs in two directions. The middle was a bitch to figure out, but I really like it now that its done.

Sorry about the picture quality. My damn scanner just chokes on peices with this much contour :grumpy: Finally got it working and here I am wanting to shoot it again already :footinmou

Let me know what you think, good or bad. Thanks for lookin :D

I like the overall package.
I really like the vine filework you did.
The dovetailing of the bolsters looks good and I especially like the way you shaped the handle.
I've done this on a couple of my own knives and it feels good in the hand and looks great from above or below.

Great work!

Matt,
So you got the new grinder obviously works well :)
Very nice lines, looks like a great user.

Good to hear that you aren't going to use kydex, needs something more complimentry. Would like to see final result.

Cheers
Mitch

Thanks Mitch
I'm not sure what will happen on the sheath. This one is going to Dale Baxter and he said he'd handle that end of it.
I might try to hunt up some leather over spring break and do some experimenting though :)
