Large Inkosi

When I was in Boise a month ago and went to the CRK factory (the tour is awesome, highly recommend) I had a chance to handle the large Inkosi. I really liked it. It fit my hand will. The clip didn't bother me, and boy is that thing smooth.

I already have a 25, so up until that point I hadn't really put much thought into wanting to own a large Inkosi.

I am still not sure if there is enough difference between the 25 and large Inkosi to justify getting one. That's why when I saw knife art had the large Inkosi in stock I hesitated on clicking the buy button.

I really like the 25 and don't have any real issues with it. It seems though that the Inkosi may be a little bit more user friendly in regards to disassembly and cleaning. Since the Inkosi isn't dependant on the stop pin position like the 25. I do like how the clip isn't resting on the lock bar. There is also the slight difference in the grind and the inkosi's thicker blade stock.

Okay I am done rambling. I am sure this has been asked before: There may be more differences but is it enough to justify supplementing (not replacing) the 25 with the large Inkosi? I really found myself drawn to the knife. Just not sure if the differences are worth the price??

What kind of support do you need?

One is none, two are one; It's better to have...; Better get one of each.
Or more like is it isn't broken, don't fix it.
If the 25 does all you need, just use it.

The question itself is probably one only you can answer yourself.
Anyway, I'll give it a shoot.
If your are comfortable with your 25, then I'd try a different 21, maybe with inlay or a small one.
All the best.

Yeah I hear you. Just mainly putting some thoughts down, thinking outloud.

That's my thing. The 25 works for me, but the Inkosi is different. Since it is different I want one. Not necessarily need, but want.

I fight this battle pretty much every time I log onto this group... that I "need" a new, better or different model. Any CRK model is truthfully more than I will ever need in a folder unless I am looking to pry up manhole covers or the like and there are tactical folders out there for that.

The one 25 I have gives the most satisfying "thunk" on lock up, more so than any of my regulars, classics or 21's. and the Inkosi I hear improves on all the goodness the 25 is.

So all that being said, you and I both need to buy one. Damn, I did it again! ;)

What was the question? Plain or Peanut? ... Of course you need one!

The differences between the 25 and the Large Inkosi obviously don't constitute a need to upgrade, but for what it's worth, I absolutely love my Large Inkosi. It's a perfect folding knife, in my opinion. I also love all my other CRKs, and carry them regularly. Do I need all of these knives? No, but I enjoy having them.

Your 25 will last a lifetime. You don't need another knife, but if you want more, buy more. You'll love having them just as much. 😀

I am sure that the 8+ CRK knives I have will last forever. They are all great and all get carried. Some more than others. I don't know, I have just really been drawn to the Inkosi. As similar as it is to the 25, it is still different. It isn't hard to convince myself I should get a new knife.

I want one because when someone ask me about the brand, I can say it's a CRK Inkosi instead of telling them it's a CRK Sebenza.
At least that's my justification for getting one ;)

Well you have already long passed "need" so now it just want and do you have the money for it. If need was all the matters you should sell 6 of your other CRK's since you don't "Need" 7 backups. Just face it. You are a CRK collector now and all that matters is if you have a spot in the collection. As long as money is not a hardship feed the collection. You can always sell something later.

Yes, nothing worse than being embarrassed in front of your friends by having to bring out another one of the those "run of the mill" Sebenza's. I'm going to use that line with household management to justify buying one. ;)

Go ahead and buy the Inkosi. It's a better knife than the 25 in my eyes, and you can always sell the 25 if you decide keeping both is not worthwhile. Either way you won't regret adding the Inkosi to your collection.

I deffinetly don't need it that's for sure. All the CRK knives I own get carried and used to. So the Inkosi would be no different. I am sure that I will end up getting one eventually.
Oh here is some more justification. My 25 has micarta inlays the Inkosi doesn't. 👍

OK, I understand.
Why didn't you tell earlier, your 25 has micarta, now that's a different thing.
You definitely need an Inkosi. This gives a totally different feeling.
I got a plain 25 and I am thinking about the micarta version. It's just those 520....
;)

Good question, it never really occurred to me I guess. The micarta 25 is deffinetly a win.
