Hi Dan from across the pond, iv'e noticed of late that most of the knives you design are of the "bushcraft" style, expertly design and built but not really what originaly attracted me to your work. The first knives i saw of yours were the kukri with subhilt and the AK Bowie, i realise these were mods and not strictly your own work, it was you i bought my first kukri from,

I loved the design of the WSK, again a large kukrish style of knife which i will hopefully one day own, i suppose my question is have you moved to the more bushcraft smaller knives thru demand and sale , legislation, not sure what the knife laws are like over there, lets hope they never get as bad as over here! or just that now you have the where with all to follow your own choices?
Hope this is not taken as a critism, i love your work im just curious as to the change in direction,
Chris.

Thanks for the post, Chris!

This will probably be the lightest/fastest- for the length/height bowie-style blade out there when it's done. That was the intention from the get-go. As big of an outdoor blade I could make and still be manageable in weight and balance.

I'm hoping they "sing!"

I also do these now-n-then:

And do still knock out the ocassional 9-10" bladed kitchen knife (search for binakoko, gyuto)

But, mainly I have moved to the bushcraft and nessmuk knives because I have found a way to make them in large numbers at low prices. If/when I can do that on the larger stuff...I definitely will.

A good in-between size is being worked on right now: BushMaster (link in my sig-line).

Right now I am exploring a legal-length EDC fixed blade concept...check it out here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=574248

But the laws really haven't changed around here much....and I don't think even after the presidential election they'll change much. The market is still good for custom knives.

Good seeing you on the forum - and yes I remember that kukri....I was so sad the day it broke....but happy to see it get rehandled and used again.

Mr. Koster is working on this one for me:thumbup: It's going to be one serious piece of cutlery:D

That survivor looks a lot bigger than I imagined it would be (that's a good thing).

Woah, now that you mention it, it certainly does. I don't know why I didn't notice it in the concept art. *kicks himself for not signing up*
