Been wanting to get a large Lum Chinese folder to mod for a while, as I love that tall flat grind on the medium, and figured the large, being even taller, would be even meaner of a slicer. It's way bigger than I like to edc, so I knew I'd be chopping it down to a more pocket-friendly size.
Great deals are afoot on the pink one nowadays, so I copped one and got to work - chopped down to a 3 1/8" blade, 4 1/2" handle, reshaped the blade to a sheepsfoot-ish profile, rounded the spine edges, and dyed the scales a dark purple. Man, this thing is the nicest slicer I have, and is now at a size that I'm gonna be using her daily - mission accomplished.

This is my favorite chopped model yet. Very well planned and executed. Lines look really good both open and closed. Considering getting myself a pink Lum now...

Looking at those pictures again, it seems pink G-10 and black RIT nearly make "blurple". Interesting.

Yeah, I was surprised. I was initially debating black vs purple, and wimped out w/ the safe option (black). But when I got that purple (via black dye) I figured I better run with it....

I used the royal blue RIT on my pink lum and I like the way yours turned out better.
Nice job!
Now I want to do mine the same...or similar anyway.
