For a larger stainless knife, AEB-L is tougher than magnacut. That knife is gorgeous.AEB-L options may be out there ( one on the exchange right now ).
I’m willing to bet this is far tougher than most 1095
Plenty of 3V out there as well ( not technically stainless, but it’s not far from it ).

To be fair, BRK quality is said to be hit or miss. The Ka-Bar is not about the steel, but the design. It has the same sharp angle between the blade and stick tang like their 1095CV, therefore both suffers the same weakness, break at easily the same spot. The regular 1095CV is the same steel that they use on Becker line.I'd personally hesitate to go for blade of such size in any CPM or higher carbide steel. Only stainless I'd go for would be AEB-L. I'd even hesitate with 3V.
In all those stupid youtube tests carbon steels take more hits before breaking than what even 3V did. Even laminated stainless (Fallknivens and such) broke fast.
DBK guys broke at least 2 MagnaCut knives so far. One Bark River and one Ka-Bar.
Granted, average user will not abuse the knife like they do on the video, but average user will use that knife for much longer span than they did in the video, which will accumulate with time.
Why hesitate with 3V if I may ask? Isn’t it supposed to be a honking tough steel?I'd personally hesitate to go for blade of such size in any CPM or higher carbide steel. Only stainless I'd go for would be AEB-L. I'd even hesitate with 3V.

It is, on all online charts. But accidentally hitting something hard with it in real life gives different results. Sadly. Why hesitate with 3V if I may ask? Isn’t it supposed to be a honking tough steel?
3v does fine with hitting hard objects. It is, on all online charts. But accidentally hitting something hard with it in real life gives different results. Sadly.
