Large or small, Dealer of CRK

I have two questions for those of you already fortunate enough to own one or two or three, etc. I've handled a BM 750 and like the size and would like to get the Sebenza that bests approximates the size. It's too hard to picture the suze of a knife just from specs and pictures. Also, when I am ready to purchase (hopefully January), should I buy through a dealer or CR knives. I understand that there is a waiting period for CR Knives. Do dealers usually have them in stock? I want to get one ASAP after I have the funds.

Skylands Cutlery or One Stop Knife Shop or Knife Center of the Internet ussually have the Sebenzas in stock.

The large Sebenza is closer in size to the Benchmade. You should be able to find one in stock from a dealer when you are ready, but check the "Knives for Sale/Trade" forum first, you might just be able to pick up a deal. Good luck.

I can tell you this after a lot of research, since I too wound up buying a Sebenza without handling one first, and went through a lot of pain to estimate what the ergonomics would be. Even to the extent of drawing "to scale" images on paper, and imagining myself holding one.

Anyway, the Benchmade is just slightly shorter in the handle, and slightly longer in the blade. So slightly that you won't notice the difference, except perhaps subliminally.

I found that for me, the 750 fit very well in my hand, as does the Sebenza. As for the blade, the Sebenza doesn't look at all like a "monster tactical folder". The 750 comes a little closer to seeming "big" (in my eyes). Maybe it's because of the blade geometry, and the recurve. Or maybe it's because I handled a 705 on the same day.

Anyway, if you like the feel and size of the 750, you should find the Sebenza even nicer.

That being said, however, some people think the 750 has a more ergonomic handle. It could well be a hand-size thing. The Sebenza fits me perfectly.

Some people like to order direct from CRK so they can say they got their knife direct from "The Man" and you can order specific variations that a dealer might not have.

The advantage with going to a dealer is quicker service on standard models and some variations. You have to get in line with CRK, while some of us dealers have them available for immediate shipment.

(At last count I had 32 Sebenzas and Umfaans in stock so if you can't find what you want at one of the other places I just might have it.)
