Hello to All and Thanks in Advance;

I have 10 Chris One Piece Knives and counting all of various models and styles, I am now looking into purchasing my first Chris Reeve Sebenza and would like some advise and coments on the Large & Small ??? I want one for everyday carry. I am growing fond of the Regular Sebenza as I like the "belly" in the blade verses the more ''pointy'' current design. I also like the more solid look of the handle. ALSO, Single OR Double Thumb Stud ??? Any information on preferences ; pros and cons to each will be greatly appreciated !!!

Thanks,
Nyefmaker

I'm a sucker for the small. I like how I don't even know I am carrying it and it does everything I ask of it in my world.

When I go out in the woods, I take a fixed blade for larger tasks.

The large Sebenza is not what I would call "large". Its more of a "medium" Sebenza. I think its a good size for average sized hands and for EDC. Feels maybe just slightly smaller than an Endura, but heftier. Very subjective. Its not like you feel like you have a "large" knife in your pocket. JMO.

Really depends on size of your hand. Mine would be classed as medium (although I prefer XL rubber gloves) and while I have both I tend to lean towards the large as a GenPurpose EDC - the small is a little more discrete for corporate wear. If you don't like it you should be able to sell it on with no problems

I have had 4 sebbies so far (Lg Reg, Lg Classic, Sm Reg, Sm Classic) and I like the Large Regular the best and carry it everday. The handle shape and Blade shape of the Regular Sebs are more appealing to me. I chose the Large over the Small because I enjoy using large knives more than small ones (even though I have small hands). I would recommend handling one of each if possible before purchasing. I wish mine had a double thumblug and I don't see how you could go wrong having them.

Good Luck finding the right Sebbie for you!:D

i am gonna go against the grain here, i like the small classic for edc...as always, just my $.02, and ya get what ya pay for...lol

I like the small for EDC in town. The large is a bit heavy for "city carry". That said, I also have a large Regular and Classic in Micarta. I like them too. Either way, you will end up getting both.

I have 2 lrg sebenza's and one small. The small
gets much more pocket time. It is lighter and I find that
the 3 inch blade does everything that I need very well.

i prefer the large. ive owned a small, and found it wasn't much smaller in the pocket, but much harder for me to manipulate.

i also find the mnandi a pain to open and close. id love a large mnandi.

I very much prefer the small Sebbie. In fact ALL my Sebbies are small. I EDC a small Dog Paws Sebbie.

Little man checking in.Go with the large think twice graphic with a belt pouch. It's the only one you'll need.:D

My preference is for the Small Sebenza, but then again, I have smaller than average hands. Oh yeah, double thumb lugs all the way :).

I carry the small regular way more often than the large, at work and during the day generaly.
The large is a still not a huge knife so could probably be used just as easily.

As mentioned the small really does dissapear into the pocket so its a great EDC

Upon looking at some pics, the sebenzas with the double thumb stud appear to have shorter pocket clips ??? I like the thought of a double thumb stud. But I prefer the security of having the longer pocket clip to keep the knife more securely clipped to my pocket. If there is a difference, by about how much ??? Looks about 1/4 - 1/2 judging from the pics.

Never noticed a difference in pocket clips, will have to investigate.

As for double lug or single, have a small classic with double lugs and a large CGG regular with a single stud and prefer the single. I find the inside double lug when carried in older pants sometimes snags on the pocket edge when drawing out. As well, I rarely find myself opening left handed and needing the extra stud.

It's just an illusion. Also, it may have been that you were comparing a large Seb with a small Seb. The clips on the large Seb appear to be shorter than on the small Seb.

All current Sebenzas (small and large) as well as the Umnumzaan use the exact same clip.

On the sight True North Knives, they show great front and back photos of Chris Reeve knives. On several pics of the small sebenzas, the pocket clip does appear to be different lengths ??? You can tell by the serations where they thumb stud is that they are different lengths. I defintell want to purchase a Regular, not the classic or 21. I just like the blade profile of the regulars, verses the pointy current version.

The small is a big favorite of mine. That said, both are great (I carried the Large passaround for a week) but the small really takes care of my folder needs so I've never felt under-knifed.

As for the thumb stud I don't see why you need dual. The framelock is not an ambidexterous design so it seems superfluous to put the other thumbstud on.
