Hermie, this question has been asked quite a bit, if you do a search within this forum for Large or Small, you should come up with a lot of posts that might help.

But since I'm here, my favorite one is the small Sebenza. I have the Zulu Trio, the Large/Small Sebenza and the Umfaan. Like all three but of them I favour the small for my most frequent knife carry.

Here is a link that might help, and welcome to the forum by the way!

Good luck on your search,

Gary, thank you for the reply. I was leaning toward the small sebenza, it's great to get feedback from someone who actually has one. The only one i have seen was at a knife show in Springfield, last year and the closest i could get was 15 ft due to the crowd.

I spent some time going over the same question and decided on the small. It is the perfect carry knife-legal just about anywhere. A concern I had with the large, was that it may be over the limit in some areas and it would ruin my day to have a $300 knife taken by the police. Also in the knives sale or trade section-you see several large for small trades being offered every month but never a small for a large. Hope this helps.

I went through the same thing...and decided on the small...

The only problem...I bought a large a day later. It's kinda fun trying to decide when and where to carry each one...

Large Sebenza is my number one choice over any folder period..
They are both Awesome..
You will probably end up getting both, like the rest of us..
Best thing is, whatever you choose, you cant go wrong..
Take Care

Hey, thanks for the great input. I am definatly going to purchase a small sebenza for now.

Go ahead, get a second mortgage and get all three (Umfaan included). You are going to end up with the Zulu trio anyway

Hermie:

The small is a good choice. I love my small left hand Seb. It's a great knife, perfect for everyday carry and won't raise eyebrows. You can even take it on a plane. If you can, order the wood inlay, you won't be sorry. You can use your Seb and don't be afraid to scratch it cause for a small fee $20.00, Chris will refurbish the whole knife and make it like new. Did I mention the awesome customer service?

I like the small best. It is just as strong and heavy duty as the large but is a more managable size. I've got one that I carry daily and I've got a wood inlay on order. Instead of getting the Zulu trio, I might get as many variations on the small as I can afford.

Is it true you can not ask for any paticular wood pattern? And you have to take whatever is sent to you. I saw two examples of wood inlays on the ACK website, and boy they were beautiful. And can assure you they were gone withi a day.

The question should probably read "Which one should I buy first?".
I bought a small plain right before Christmas. It's the only folder I ever carry anymore. I love it that much.
Yesterday I ordered a large classic directly from CRK.
The nice thing about the small is that it's legal anywhere and has a very non threatening look about it.

Nice decision to have to make. We are all fortunate. I have had the trio for some time, and can say without a doubt that the Umfann is my favorite by a mile, with the small my second choice.

I recently pared down to two, and the large was the one to leave. Just too big for daily carry, and a little awkward in the hand. Not quite mobile enough.

The small and a mini socom are my favorites in this size. A Military is my favorite large knife, mainly because of the serrations. I do a lot of landscape work and the Military cuts weed barrier better.

OK, I'll go out on limb and say...Large Sebbie ! I am fond of larger blades. {love that MA Socom} I'd rather my Sebenza be a bit too big than a bit too small. Buy both and don't sweat it!
