Just picked up the large Persian Schempp designed folder. How come I don't hear alot about this knife? The knife is very well made and the transition of the micarta to the bolsters is seamless. The snap for a lock back is really robust, the blade is spydie sharp, and the ergo's don't seem that bad at all for general use. My only complaint so far is trying to figure out how to keep the blade from rubbing the liner when thumbing it open. Only does this using my right hand. Does not rub when opening with my left hand.

It is a heavy in the hand little bugger too. I would like to really put some thumb grooves on the top of the bolsters and on the bottom of the bolsters too. Just to give a little more stop to my hand when gripping the knife. This is a pretty darn nice knife, with fit and finish that is excellant. keepem sharp

I own two of them and I agree that they are extremely well built. The problem that I have with the larger Persian, is just that, it is too large and heavy for me to use as an EDC. I'm normally in slacks and it just adds to much weight.

I do carry the Mini-Persian on a regular basis though.

At some point, I'll probably sell the Persians as they are both NIB.

The Persian is an excellent knife. F&F are great and it's got beautiful lines. I'd agree that it may be somewhat shortchanged in discussion, at least here on this particular forum. I wonder if maybe people don't think of it in the same category as the tried and true Spydie EDC models like the Military, Para, Endura and Delica, along with newer hits like the Manix. The blade shape of the Persian may lend itself less to utility use for some folks, but that takes nothing away from it being a top shelf model in the Spyderco line to me.

Plenty of discussion of the Persian...just not lately. It was discontinued at the start of the year (roughly). Like all the other great Spyderco models of yesteryear, it is hard to talk about them all every day. Great knife. Own several.

Been carrying it exclusively for a few days now. The more I carry it the more I like it. The opening is starting to smooth out a bit too. Locks up like a tank too. As good as the Chinook I had. It is just classy looking folder to boot.

I am trying to figure a way to put serrations along the indent on the top of the ricasso area and on the bolsters on the bottom front. Just to add a bit better purchase. Anybody ever done this? Do you cut them in with files or what? keepem sharp and thanks
