Large Pure Utilty Folders

I am wondering what knife or knives you think strike you as a large pure utility knife. I have lots of sheeple friendly folders and want a larger blade that has less of the tacticool and more of the pure utility vibe. 3.6 or larger would be perfect, but less is fine. I'm looking for a larger utility blade partially because I just want a super capable knife that doesn't make compromises to satisfy the sheep. The other reason is, I just don't have enough large blades.

Things at the top of my list of large utility knives.
Emerson Journeyman
Benchmade 710
Benchmade 940
Spyderco Military
CQC7AW (not actually large)
Southard (not actually large)
Emerson CQC8
Umnumzaan (too expensive for me for utility work)
???
???

btw, I'm not looking for cheapies. I can buy an el cheapo knife anyday. Right now I want to spend some cash and I'm looking for something "better" than a Journeyman but with the same vibe. Make sense?! or do I just sound crazy?

Spyderco Gayle Bradley is where it's at for me.

ZT 300 or Spyderco Tuff looks pretty beefy.....Cold Steek Recon 1 XL ...I just seen a few A.G. Russell knives , the Sunfish and the Taxes Ranger they might not be something your looking for but they look beefy !!!

I own one of those CRKT razel folders i really liked it at first but the lock failed on me...!!!!!!!!!!!!

You mentioned the Benchmade 940, but for what you seem to be describing the 950 Rift or 810 Contego might be a better fit with a similar blade profile. I have a 940 and a 950, and the 950 is on of my favorites for in the 3.5-4" blade range. Though the blade lengths are close, the 950 feel like a much larger knife to me.

The AG Russell Texas Ranger 2013 model is a real handful! 3/16" thick FFG blade. Beautiful fit and finish. I great belly and useful blade shape.

I use my GB for that size of folder... but the stretch, endura, para2, and military are all awesome

Not exactly sure what you're looking for...check out the Boker Arctos XL...I think it might fit your parameters.
Also, the most utilitarian utility knife I've ever worked with is the large sodbuster in CV. :)

Out of the ones you listed I would highly recommend the BM710. It seems like it could be exactly what you're looking for. Also if you're OK with aus8, check out the cold steel recon 1. It would definitely fit for your uses.

ZT 0560
ZT 0300
BM 275 Adamas
BM 950 Rift
BM 810 Contego
Spyderco PM2
Spyderco Military
Spyderco Manix2
DPx HEST
Microtech Socom Delta
Microtech Socom Elite
Microtech DOC
Brous Blades Division or Mini Division
Brous Blades Reloader

All pretty beefy

I'd take a look at the BM 810 KW exclusive. Black/Blue G-10 scales, with a satin M390 blade. I'm fighting the urge to hit the order button as I type this!

black/blue

blue/black

A military in s90v is an incredible utility folder and the blue g10 seems to be less scary than the normal black scales.

Ultimately how you present the knife is just as (if not more) important than which knife it is.

A military calmly and slowly extracted from the pocket and opened slowly with two hands seems to be much less disturbing than a kershaw leek drawn quickly and snapped open!

Non scary, isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for knives that have a strong focus on functionality over style. A "serious" knife, a practical knife, and a highly capable knife. I like that style. I.e. 940, journeyman, cqc7aw, ????

My choices in that category are the Spyderco military and Benchmade contego. Can't seem to pick a favorite of the two.

The large sebenza, umnumzaan, and SnG are also great, but they're too expensive for me to beat up without hesitation.
