Been making several smaller bladed knives over the last several months that are more along the lines of Puukko's than anything else but I have been getting an itch to make something a bit larger so here it is. Not knowing what puukko means it probably means small knife so here's my take of a large small knife. :D This one has a 8" W-2 blade, wagon wheel wrought iron fittings, desert ironwood with ivory spacers for a handle. 12 1/2" overall.

viking's delight!:thumbup::)

Now that's the best looking puukko I've ever seen!

Great work Ray. Now do one in a 12" dagger :D

Hey Ray I really like that, Looks like it has a nice hamon too. is the top edge sharpened? :thumbup:

Bill, There's no top edge to sharpen. I did double grind the blade but left the top edge about 3/32" thick.

Oh, I thought is was sharp too, seeing your makers mark on the side instead of the spine. That's good, somebody could baton that sucker through logs in the wilderness :D

Oh my gosh. That is just great Raymond. That'd have to be a Leuku...basically a giant Puukko for the heavy work. Those iron fittings just do the trick. I love the diamond shape cross section (diamond like anyway)...that just really adds to the overall package.

A masterwork.
