Large Regular Seb

I recently wandered into the wanted to buy area of another forum and found that no less than four people had want ads out for Regular Sebs, large and small.

It appears this variant is highly sought after. I myself prefer it to the newer shape.

I wonder why it is that CRK no longer offers it? They obviously are still capable of making the pattern, hence the Annual LE's...

It would be great if we could have the choice between this shape and the new one and the Insingo...

And of course, the Zaan... ;)

I much prefer the regular Sebenza shape, I would actually go as far as to say that I don't like the classic/21.

I think they got shot of the regular to just keep the numbers down. That is totally fair play on their part although I would prefer it not to be the case.

.......Don't even get me started on the one pice knives.:p

I got a BG42 L regular recently and its a nice setup. I like it better than the classic.

Producing 2 lines of production Sebenzas is cost prohibitive if you want to keep retail prices from raising. With limited runs you can charge a bit more to pay for some of the inefficiency.

In a few years they will change to the "Sebenza 25", an updated version of the old regular. And then everyone will want a 21...

I have both the Regular (large) and 21 (small). I much more prefer the blade shape of the regular. However, I like the grip profile of the 21. I can only hope that that the "Sebenza 25" would have these features.;)

When Chris Reeve was offering both the Classic/21 and the Regular, I wonder which one sold more? I also think the Umnumzaan is more similar to the Regular than the 21, so CRK did not want to offer similar knives at the same time.

If you look around, you might be able to find a regular. I got lucky and found a brand new, unused Regular Sebenza about 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for the snaps. Those are undoubtedly the two CRKs I lust for the most. I have seen them come up for sale. They never last long, which is a problem because anything costing over $400 normally gives me considerable pause :o
