I just received my first Benchmade knife today and I am impressed! It is a large Ritter Griptilian with the orange handle scales. I was a little worried with some of the reviews I've read about the so called "cheap/hollow" handle scales that these knives come with. To be honest, they are light, however feel very solid and I wouldn't say cheap. When I think of "cheap plastic" handles, I picture flea market or gas station knives you can pick up for $5. The Noryl GTX used for the Griptilian is nothing like this! The stonewashed s30v blade on this version is beautiful and I think looks just as good as a Sebenza I had a few years back. This is my first time using a axis lock and I love how smooth the action is, with a lockup that is rock solid!

I'm glad that I ended up ordering the large version. I usually carry a Spyderco Military and this knife is a little bit smaller. This will primarily be used as a work knife, so the orange handle will help with spotting it when I put it down or if it gets dropped. Overall I think this knife is a great value for what you get. I'm looking forward to put it through its paces!

My Ritter Grip is still one of my favorite, most versatile folders. I was just thinking last night how easy it is to maintain the edge...just use my kitchen steel every now and again and it's back to being very sharp!
