I can afford one of the three, I sold a few knives and got a bonus from work!

User Umnum, mint Large Classic with Snakewood, or blem Volt?

The CRKs are sitting at 350 and 400, with the Volt at 150, respectively.

Having change left over by buying the Volt would be nice.

I like to use my knives, in the kitchen, at work, and in the woods.

It will not be a safe queen.

Let me know what you guys think,

-ethan.

I have an Umnum and a Volt. Both are nice knives with the edge to the Umnum but the Volt is the nicest knife for the money I have seen in a very long time.

I am not familiar with the Volt, but I can easily recommend a sebenza or umnumzaan as I have both of them. And between them, I would recommend the Umnumzaan hands down. I have used mine from everything to food prep, carving wood, cutting tons of cardboard, to cutting tar paper and shingles for my roof and it has zipped through anything and everything with no problems. As great as the sebenza is, the umnumzaan is that much better. Its easily the toughest folding knife I have ever seen. Since your looking for a do all for everything knife, I feel the umnumzaan will meet your needs perfectly as it has met mine.

(T)he Volt is the nicest knife for the money I have seen in a very long time.

+1 to this. The Volt is the most knife I've gotten for my money in I don't know how long. I was never very impressed with the sebenza I owned. YMMV.

Also have a Tanto SNG CC offered for the same price as the Seb, but I gotta admit -I'm leaning towards the Volt. Looks to be of CRK quality without the price tag.

I have a Kershaw Random Leek framelock in S30V that I bought from Kershawguy which I love. :)

The volt may be everything you guys say and more but why does Kershaw always deck their knives out (the Volt comes to mind) with all the weird looking racing stripe c**p in their blades and just put on a straight S30V satin or other steel. Those are deal breakers for me.

Could someone please post a link on or some info otherwise on the "Volt?"

Many thanks!

Professor.

Nevermind, did a search and turned it up. Interesting, but would be cooler IMO if left unbranded with all the decor. Kershaw's got some really cool stuff though, no doubt about it.

Its excused by the Ti scales, lockstop and exotic scales at less than $200 street price :P

If you want to save money and still have decent knife get the Volt but a CRK knife if you want the best. They are as good as it gets.

Sell some more and go for the Sebenza AND Umnumzaan. I have sold or traded off most of my folders, AGAIN, and currently looking for an Umnumzaan.

Ive got all 3 of your choices. Ive only had my Volt for a little over a week

and I Cant Stop Carrying It. I got a Volt blem...I love it..I really like the

flipper(took a day or so to get the pivot adj. right and right finger position

on the flipper) I cant really tell about m390...havent used the knife to

cut enough yet. The Volt is By Far the Best Buy for the Money out there

right now for a ti frame lock in production knife now IMO. I have 2 other

flippers and CRKs and an SMF among others. I Cant Stop Carrying the

Volt thou.:D:p:thumbup:

I've got a Volt blem and it is competing with my lg sebenza as edc.

The Volt is a great value for the money. Since it's a limited run - get the Volt. You can always pick up a CRK.

Don't own an Umnum, but have 2 Volts and a Classic Large. One Volt blem to use, and the Sebenza and first run Volt are in the safe. Both are nice top end pieces, but if you're going to use it, save the $$$ and get the Volt. This is the nicest knife I've seen Kershaw do in years. Quality, fit and finish are way above the price point.

If you like flippers get the Volt. This knife is actually the reason I don't have an Umnumzaan right now. For my tastes the Volt is one of the best knives ever made.
If you have large hands you should also look at the Ti Military by Spyderco.

I can't speak from personal experience with any of 'em, but with the rave reviews, and considering the price difference, I'd say go with the Volt. You can always pick up a Sebenza or Umnumzaan sometime later.

The volt is limited production if u have a chance at one you should jump on it, you can always sell it for a profit and go for the others if you don't like it, but volts will probably be pretty rare very soon they only made 350 or so I believe.

I'm in complete agreement. I'm not trying or wanting to be nosy but I don't see how they could have produced these at the price point sold at.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a loss on each unit over and above the money lost using production resources on a small, high end run that needed as much touch labor as these did.

They are very special knives. I rate them higher even than the JYD 2 Ti/Sg2 run of a couple years back. That is saying a lot.

I have a Volt and I'd just like to say. I wish kai would make the Volt in solid M390 and continue the production . It just feels so good in my hand ,lol. It is a really good design R.J.M....
