Large Sebenza 21 blade spot question

Hi,

This is my first Sebenza and I have a question because I noticed a few dark spots that I firstvthought were pits. It is not pitting on the blade but rather dark portions of the steel and they are more reflective that other portions. These spots are small probably the size of a ink pen tip. Has anybody else noticed this on their sebenzas?

Just concerned!
 
It is hard to see in a photo but here's one pic. You'll see two darker spots side by side. But there hard to see. What is your opinion?

Called Chris Reeve company. Spoke to a very nice lady and she suggested that I send it in. She said that they would see what it was and replace the blade if necessary. I will let everyone know what the out come is when I get it back.

I had similar issues with an S30V blade; the spots eventually turned into tiny pits and over time multiplied and turned into more pits. I talked with one of the Reeve ladies at Blade Show this June, and they took it and replaced the blade. Once I got it back, it looked like a new knife (8 yrs old) and the action felt better than when it was new. Unfortunately,I had to return it for another reason. I'm really impressed with the level of customer service that they provide esp on an 8-yr old knife! They were awesome to deal with, and this only made me want more! If only the 25 had a bushing...
 
Just a quick update. Got a email from Angela at CRK. She said they received my Sebenza 21 and would get back to me on Monday with more information. Great customer service and a fantastic product. Just wish I had my knife back. I miss it and it's only been gone a few days.
 
Got an email from Angela today. They are going to replace my blade. What great Customer Service! I'm already thinking about getting a Sebenza 25. Can't wait to get my knife back.

CRK flat out stands behind the product. Great products and great customer service make the whole experience of buying and using a CRK worth the upfront investment. Makes me wonder.....who else stands behind a product like CRK and provides that level of customer service? For me one would be Festool. They make great tools, offer a 3 year warranty and a no questions asked 30 day return policy. Never returned any in the first 30 days but tried a few knowing I could.

BTW, get the 25. Absolutely a fabulous knife. Got mine in my pocket right now.
 
Just got my Sebenza 21 Large back today. Great looking knife and they replaced the blade for me and I could not be any happier to have my Sebenze back!

Now it's time to get a Sebenza 25 so that my 21 isn't lonely!?
