I know this has been discussed before with pictures of Sebenza lock bar wear that looked much worse than mine, but I wanted to post up pictures of my Large 21 to see if the wear is in line with what others see. This Large 21 is from 2011 and looks to have been carried lightly and has no wear on the blade or factory edge. The lock has a very slight stick when disengaging (I can tell it slightly catches on the worn part of the lock face) and hoping that will get better with use. Thoughts and comparisons on the wear I am seeing?

Sorry apparently I cant post pics. If anyone is willing to offer their experienced advise and thoughts I could email pics of the lock face wear I have. Thanks

The user sebbie lg 21 I got recently has almost the same lock face as the above. It is also sticky. It was sent to CRK for service.

Thanks Corytr for posting my pics of the lock face wear. At this point I am not sure if the lock stickiness will get better, worse or stay the same. It appears the edge of the lock bar is getting slightly chewed up by the blade tang and not sure if this is because of a faulty lock bar carburizing or wear that is to be expected. I do know it is causing the slight stickiness in the lock and if it will not get better with use then off to CRK it will have to go I guess.

SLIGHT stickiness is a good thing IMO. That friction between the steel and titanium can make your lock a little more secure.

This kind of wear is very common and pretty normal on sebs, there will always be some slight abrasion between the lockbar and tang no matter what, because you're never going to have the exact hardness matched between the two. Either the tang or the lock bar will get slight wear over time, even on the 25's and zan's, in that case the tang gets wear because the ceramic ball is harder than the steel. Lock wear is a thing that will never disappear in frame locks i'm afraid, eventually they will all wear slightly, just some slower than others.
