I have a large sebenza that has had 50% lockup since.ive had it, after I cleaned it and lubed it the lockup went to near 75%. So I reassembled and its staying at 75%.

What did I do wrong?? Its still centered amd no wiggle.

did I lube too much?

Your stop pin bushing is likely not perfectly round. The final lock-up of the knife is a result of the blade tang wear, the lock face wear, the blade surface that hits the stop, and the stop pin diameter. All four factors can change lock-up. In some cases, when you take it apart and put it back together, the stop pin bushing ends up presenting a different face to the blade stop surface, and can modify lock-up. Try rotating the stop pin bushing.

Hey no problem....hope that's the fix. Another thing I notice, since I got lazy and do not clean my 21 so often, is eventually pocket lint forms a bit of a layer on the stop pin, and my lock-up gets more "early" due to this lint deposit. When I clean the knife, the layer is removed and the lock-up goes back to 80%, where it was when I bought the knife over a year ago.

The same thing happened to me when I cleaned one of my smalls this weekend. It was odd, because usually if the lockup changes it goes earlier in my experience.

Ive googled the instructions and it was here I found a thread.

Wow, ok, well that is something. Thought it might be a pinched washer. I cant help any more then that, but my Insingo has had late lockup for the past 3 years with no issue. I think sometimes things just need setting in and then runs smooth. Hope that is what has happened here.

My only advice is dont worry to much and enjoy your knife.
