i like to see one with the handle knurled like the fixed blades

Somewhere a few years ago. A person sent in their sebenza to a place that did checkiering on it like a gunstock. Came out pretty well as I recall.

Why cant CR do this as an option like they do on the fixed blades. CR is big on options for the basic sebbies and this is part of their success.

Uh, I don't think CRK is big on options. swedge and double thumb studs is all I know they do.

Dave,
I was thinking of all the options regarding, blade, damascus, special artwork, stars and stripes, inlays such as hematite and gold coins, etc, etc. CR seems to use the fantastic basic model and then let the customer determine the bells and whistles. Checkering does not seem to be attached to any certain maker such as Mayo and would seem to be practical and maybe artistic.

Checkering titanium or sculpting it in any other fashion as just plain and simple, time consuming, not to mention very hard on cutters or shapers. That translates in to alot more money for the finished product. I'm sure the fine folks at Reeve Knives are interested in making the finest quality knives that their customers can afford to buy. Not too many people are going to be able to afford a checkered titanium handled pocket knife.

As for the one-piece knives, those handles aren't titanium and checkering that animal is a whole different ball of wax.

That is one of the nicest looking Sebbie's I've seen, especialy one modded at home. Hell of a Job! :D

How did you do that mod, by hand with round files or with a roto tool? It looks really nice!

I really didn't mean to hijack this thread, but thanks everyone for your positive comments. I have a fairly extensive tool selection. Nobody try this mod with a dremel or roto tool, cause it won't work. I used a 4 1/2" oscillating spindle sander. It took many, many hours and several sanding sleeves.

B/C they don't have to. Thats why the Sebenza design will never change. They sell every one they make as fast as they make them as is. I personally would like to see some more options as well. But I don't think its going to happen
