I have been trying to find some examples of production traditional knives which have a single, large spearpoint blade (4 inch blade or close to 4), which has a light pull. So far my search hasn't turned up much. All advice is appreciated.
I'm in the process of making changes to my collection of traditionals.

If u want a test drive, I'll send it to you to carry and.use for a bit. Just send it back....it was my second or third GEC I bought and was the start of a wo fearful friendship with Mr. Bob Andrews. God rest his sole.

Look for a single blade Schatt & Morgan Heritage Jack. Mine has good walk and talk with a nice, easy pull.

The Camillus 23 is right about the right size, but a two blader. Its not overly thick though, maybe you can get it modded to a single.

Mine was blinged out by a previous owner, MOP covers and some basic file work on the blades and springs. I find mine to be medium pull, but smooth with a good snap.

Thanks so much for the very kind offer. Let me get back to you. Right now am at the doctor's office.

Only problem is the blade size you demand, c.4" . Pretty massive for a Traditional...
Yeah, to get a 3 1/2" - 4" blade you're looking at a knife that would be 4 1/2" - 5"+ closed. The only ones that come to mind are some English Jacks or Granddaddy Barlows but I don't have experience with them to comment on the pulls and the pics I see online tend to the 2 blade variety. At the small end of your spectrum could be a #23 (lol, small) but they tend to mainly have drop point blades. The specific ones with light pulls I'm thinking of are the #235111Ts from 2011 with the lanyard tube. That run, which came in slip joint and liner lock configurations, has the lightest pulls of a #23 I have ever felt. But being a 2011 model and only run with the tube once, they may be close to impossible to find.

Edit to add: Not too many made either
Tidioute Slipjoint - 108 Liner Locking - 107
Northfield Slipjoint - 163 Linger Locking - 185

They are friction folders instead of a slipjoints, but the Opinel knives can be easily modded into spears and are very easy to open and close.

I was going to say : These don't look 4 inch to me (a favorite EDC length for me).
(((he sneezed and it almost sounded like : Ti Lite IV full flat or convex ground)))

You might look at an old KeenKutter. I have my Granddad's single blade slip joint.
Honestly though I wouldn't call it light pull; maybe a five or six.

Mine is shown at this LINK > > >
I think the blade is shorter than stock from all the sharpening he did.

Whap I just slapped my forehead . . .
The last couple of months I've been using the heck out of an Opinel #12 in plain high Carbon and didn't even think to mention it.
I've finally, finally surmounted the pivot binding when wet prob by dripping some hot candle wax on the end of the knife and in the pivot; once cool work the blade open and shut and then no binding.
I use this knife in the kitchen a lot just because I've felt like doing that lately.
Super light in the pocket even though it is a monster knife.
PS: I love 'em thin and THIS is it.

I just remembered, I did have one knife in the past that was big with a large spear blade. In my notes I have it listed as "R1273B Bullet Banana Bone Jack '06". You can still find a few around. The main spear blade did have a easy pull. It is 2 bladed though. Looks like its 5 1/2" closed with a 4" main blade.

Edit: It was Camilus made Remington.

A Buck 110 with a drop point blade comes to mind. You can get a fancy one from the custom shop. The blade is only 3.75" long and I don't know if the pull will be light enough, but it's somewhat close.

S&M schatt and morgan file and wire grandad barlows, but you would have to do a blade delete...
