I wanted to introduce myself; My name is Randy Bush and I have been addicted to knifemaking since I took Gil Hibbens knifemaking class last August. When I finished his class and got home I spent a few months acquiring what I needed to start making my own knives. All of my knives are stamped with "GR Bush Jr Alabama". This is a large skinner I made out of 5/32 inch 440c stainless with steel bolsters and stabilized black walnut handles. I made the sheath out of 8-9 oz leather and hand stitched.

Thanks a lot, I was impressed how pretty the walnut turned out. Walnut is my favorite handle material because it is always a surprise, you never know exactly what it will loook like until it is polished. Here is another knife of the same design with different handle materials.

Beautiful work Randy nice lines. Question....I have been looking into marking my knives with a name/logo. and trying to get feedback on the different methods. I noticed your name stamp . what method do you use? are you happy with it. Reccomend? thanks, John Luke

Yes, I am very happy with it. I use a Personalizer Plus I got from Jantz Knife Supply. You can mark and etch. Some knives I think look good with a black name and some I etch deep and buff off the black so it leaves just the etch and no color. I used Marking Methods to order my stencils.

thanks Randy, I have the catalogue. and I checked out the marking methods site. when you ordered the stencils did they do the art work or did you have your logo already drawn up. how expensive was it , if you dont mind me asking....thanks for your time on this. John Luke

I gave them a general idea and they created it. They charge a $50 art fee and a $70 minimum order, I think. After the art fee and minimum I ended up with 12 stencils of 3 different sizes. You can use the stencils over and over several times.
