Hey all,
I’m a pretty new account but here’s my second knife I’ve posted: easily my largest knife and with the highest layer count. 5” blade, 10” overall length. Ebony, brass, and black palm handle. There’s a few surface cracks which shouldn’t be any structural issue, but they and some other grinding imperfections would definitely take down the cost. Follow me @mw_smithing on Instagram if you are interested in my work.
Thanks, and have a great day!

I really like the pattern of the damascus. And the overall shape is quite nice.

I don't think there is such a think as a "surface" crack however. Black palm is notorious for splitting when you're not careful.

The knife to me looks like it has potential....but it could still use quite a bit of finishing work..

I guess a “surface crack” isn’t the right word to use, more like chips I guess. I would have done more finishing work on this, but the issue was that the blade was getting way too thin to grind down more, and removing the chips from the handle would have made the handle shape pretty bad. Lesson learned: forge stuff thicker, and grind more carefully. Thanks for the encouragement!
