Got another one finished up for the St. Louis show on the 28th. This one is 12 1/2 inches overall with about a 6 1/2-inch blade of 1095. It is flat-ground and the spine is ground in a "V." It got about a 1/8-inch curve (sori) to the blade during heat-treat. :)

Comments or criticism are always appreciated. :D

Very nice indeed, I like the traditional style tantos way more than the Americanized style. Too bad most production manufacturers don't make any like that. (Design-wise, I'm sure that is of better quality than a production piece)

That thing is just begging to be jammed into the back of somebody's neck. Looks great.

Hey, Mike. Have you given this one a good name yet? Howzabout calling it, "The Back "O" The Neck Jammer"?

Yes please!

Man O man, that is gorgeous! I love that hamon. And the black/grey trainlge rayskin looks fantastic. Don't need a menuki when it looks that good.

Your work just gets better and better. I own one of your early Imperial Tanto XL's that i use all the time at work. I admit it's a little strange carrying a very japanese style blade around a stables in New Hampshire but I love it. Even if I have to put up with "ninja" comments now and then. ;)

Thanks! The hamon is an attempt at "koji" but it don't come out as I expected.

Physics - I'm glad some of those blades are getting good use. Let me know if it ever needs to be touched up or rewrapped.
