I like swing guard knife design. Many of these knives were made in past by major companies like Case ,Queen, etc, but do not think theyre still in production.I had a Puma but gave it away.Which brand still makes one in large size(4inches and more)?I am looking for higher quality knife, not some cheap pos. LOL.All input welcome!

Might look for a Case/Bose collaboration swing guard on the exchange or elsewhere. Very nicely made.

GEC made the #64 with a swing guard a while back, 4 3/8" closed length; not sure if they're available anywhere now.

You can still find the 70's red bone Case swing guards for reasonable money, takes some looking. The 70's Case Cheetah I just found is a very high quality knife with beautiful bone handles.

I got a Marbles Swing-Guard in the post yesterday. It's about to go back, guard was loose :(

I have an old Ka-bar that I chopped the swing-guard off of because it rattled. One day I might make a new guard- a bit of thin brass, a pin...

Peen or is it Pean - oh heck Jack, give the pin a tap. That just may tighten the guard up.

Yeah, you're right Ed, I don't know why I didn't think! Too late now I'm afraid, went back in the post this morning. From one of the big UK retailers I spend a lot with, so there'll be a new one with me tomorrow

I have seen Puma, S&M plus Case old, but new swing guards at gun shows. The S&M are the best, the older Pumas are better than newer ones...Medici? Model? I think one of the China sources (Marbles?) makes one as well.

Took me a bit to find the pictures of my Cheetah. The knife is 4 3/8" long closed. The blade is 3 1/4" long from the tip of the blade to the front edge of the guard and 3 1/2" from the tip of the blade to the leading edge of the forward bolster.
