Does anyone like these old style tactical large or mid size folding knives, and what are good choices if one wants to get some of those.I know about Bose swingguards, but are there other ones? All pics are welcome too.I have seen some manual folding stilettos from Italy, any info welcome!

I like Extrema Ratio resolza,is there anything similar in more traditional materials?or something similar but priced less?I al thinking about this one for long long time, and had it on order once but cancelled it.

Rough Rider, and I think Case make a swing guard.
You might be able to find one of those
WW2 Folding Bayonets. I'm not sure if they would be considered traditional, though, by the standards of this forum.
(Mods, please forgive me for mentioning them, if they are not considered a traditional.)

Here's an older Puma Medici swing guard, 1991 vintage, 4". This one is really nice.

I had puma medici ,but gave it away,it was small size though and very good quality.Rough rider have small swingguard.I am probably getting it but its too small with 2,5inch blade.Case has swingguard, but its still short.although a good knife, wish they had cv version.A lot of the knives I like are not in stock or made anymore...

Schatt and Morgan made really nice one,but is not made anymore, same as most knives I like.Rough rider had larger version of swingguard but its not made anymore. If I dont find nothing else Ill get Case swingguard or crosslock.Fair prices, extrema ratio is too expensive where I live.

Spyderco's ethnic series folders are alot like the Extrema Ratio Resulza in that they are modern takes on traditional patterns. In particular the Hungarian Folder is a very close facsimilie of a traditional Hungarian pattern.

I here that many in Vietnam had Buck 110's on their hip, and I've never heard of anyone having their hand slip into the blade.
There's also the case cheetah which has a swing guard.

Traditional Forum. Post about traditional patterns only.
If it is one hand opening or has a pocket clip, it discussion of it does not belong here.

Spyderco ethnic series Pattada is nowhere near close to Extrema Ratio Resolza, which is in the same time modern and traditional. They had Laguiole (spyderco)knife long time ago,but is gone for a long time now.

Well Schatt and Morgan just released another run of swing guards that're 4.5" long and Queen version was also made in D2. They also made just made the massive 5 1/2" #71 John Henry express, a traditional auto which riffs off the old Kabar Grizzlies. Speaking of which, if you have a spare arm and leg GEC made some switchblades for Schrade way back but those are quite pricey now.

Then there's the elusive, but oh so worth it Rib Tickler from Titusville... coming in at 4 3/8" closed with a wicked clip that's 3 5/8" looong. Guaranteed to put more cut in your strut, more slide in your glide, & more quiver in your foe's liver. A true two handed tactical porch sitter's dream, #64 the Babylon Hill Special from GEC.

Here's a link to a video of the #71 auto (not mine but what a beast!) :

Where I live cant have autos.Otherwise would buy bunch of them from Campolin and others to protechs and Daltons.Ill check out this Schatt Morgan swingguard ,something about 4-5inches wuold be perfect.

can you send me private message please, where to get some of these, cant find them, and I live in Canada so shipping might be expensive. Most of these knives are not in stock(all the ones I like) ,or they ask for ridiculous prices for it,or do not shipp to Canada. The one I can get without problems is Case Cheetah, but their steel is so so,but not bad.Had a chance some tome ago to get Queen cutlery swingguards with spear and clip point but waited too long and theyre gone now. These knives are perfecr tactical-edc knives even withouit one hand opening or clip.

Dr mabuse,I like something like
Northfield Lock Back Swing Guard Genuine Stag #07,its amazing knife. The blade style and grind is perfect for cutting.Schatt morgan swingguard is pretty good too, will think about it little more, thanx for link. This northfield just looks amazing!I like flat or full hollow grind blades like Case does, the link you showed me ,the knife has bayonet style of grind,I like it too but prefer ffg or full hollow.Queen 1095,how is it,any idea? How is queen d2,and their 420hc?

I just Ordered Queen Large toothpick in d2 from that website.Seems like amazing knife:).The knife on the picture, which one is it?Any toothpick or stiletto style blades are welcome on this post too!

Queen's 1095 is at least as good as GEC's and I prefer it to Case's CV. Their D2 has a bit of an edge on GEC's 440C in edge holding.
