Are the 4 1/2" trappers like the Remington and other too large to be practical. I know the blade length would be practical but pocket carry of a knife that big?
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

Thickness and handle profile do also matter...but in the end it's a very personal thing.
I know people who have been carrying 5" folders in their front pocket for decades with no hassle, while others consider a 3,5" slipjoint almost too big for pocket carry.
If I were you, I would pick a single bladed trapper of my choice and try carrying it for a while. It won't take long to answer your question, and if it doesn't work for you, you should be able to resell it here with a minimum loss (the price of learning something)
