i was thinking about getting one of the two i mentioned above in clip point. what advantages do they have over each other? i am not concerned about weight, because i have an endura for when i wear lighter clothing and i'm not too concerned about it anyway.

thanks!

Coating, griv-ex instead of G10, a lower price, and weight.

Choice is up to you but, I don't suggest either!!!

The only advantage to the Recon 1 is the G10 handle which is grippier and gives the knife a bit more heft. The Grivory Voyagers have metal liners so it's a toss-up as to which is structurally stronger.

both are good choices. Personally find the voyager better value for money for edc.

The Recon 1, I find opens more smooth and confidently than the voyager
Also with G10 and no liners it's still very very tough.

Personally I find all the car door stabbing lame but one test that is interesting is hanging 200lbs on the AK47 handle
(also) g10 and no liners.)
Help up just fine

The Voyager is better value for money. The Recon 1 is more knife in the hand, it simply feels more structural. Also, the click you get when the Recon 1 locks is pretty much unparallelled. :D
I own them both, I prefer the Recon 1.

I recently got a Large Voyager and the lock was very sticky. So I returned it. I also watched a You Tube video of the same model that had a sticky lock.
Then I bought a Mini Recon and it has a sticky lock too. Not as bad so I kept it.
Go back in time months and years to when I bought my Recon 1 and Lawman. Both funtion perfectly without sticky locks.
So I don't know what's going on with Cold Steel and these sticky Triad locks.
My current view is that I'd rather have a well-made lock back from a company like Spyderco that may be less strong but is easier and smoother to operate.

Nominated for most off-topic post. The OP asked for advice on choosing between the Voyager and the Recon 1.
As an aside, I own 6 Tri-Ad lock folders. The Spartan is a beast to unlock, the rest are all perfect.
