Took a tour of Larry Chew's shop yesterday and was amazed once again at the willingness of these professionals to take time out of there day to show customers their shop and to talk knives.
All of the makers that I have had the pleasure of working with have been very outgoing and informative and that is why I think this industry will continue to grow and prosper.
I highly reccommend Larry's knives, not only are they great looking, the fit and finish is among the best I've seen and they function like a well oiled machine.
Customer service as with most makers that I've done buisness with is # 1
I have a Cujo that I purchased from Les and while I was at Larry's shop I ordered a customized Spitfire that I look forward to working with Larry on in the not to distant future.

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

I think it is in our best intrest to let each other know when we have a good or bad experance with a purchase, share your experance's past, presant, future, everone benifits.

Thanks.
Kevin.

Kevin-A while ago I bought a small Spitfire from Larry Chew.I'ts got snakewood scales and mokume bolsters.Great action and a good price for that kind of work.At the N.Y.show I spoke to Les Robertson. He had a prototype D.A.-not customized.plain g-10? handle.Les said it was a special project.Larry would be selling 25 of them through Robertson's company. The action on this knife was better
than mine(but at least it did'nt look better)
Les told me Larry Chew is getting better with
each knife he makes.I think Larry Chew has some of the best D.A.knives around and his prices are much lower than the other top D.A.
makers.

I have five of Larry's auto's.The best DA Auto out there.Nice guy and very knowledgable.
Making me a couple more of his autos soon.
Get them while he is still reasonable.

have a"knife"day

Robb,

The knife you are speaking of is the "Quicksilver". This knife is part of a new collection of knives called the Vanguard Collection, that Robertson's Custom Cutlery will be introducing the first week of December.

Larry's knife features a 440V blade, Titanium and Carbon Fiber (not plain G-10).

The knife is limited to only 25 knives, the price is $675.00.

I agree with all of the above, that is why Larry is one of the makers chosen for the Vanguard Collection!

Les

ROBB, I think Larry sent me a pix of your knife before I ordered mine. Nice piece.
Mine is a mini-spitfire with 420v blade, desert ironwood, bronze Ti bolsters and liners, filework on back and thunb ramp. Excellent workmanship
Mine is MA but I would love to have a DA.
Les, you taking any early orders?

Hi JW,

Yes, orders are being taken on this knife, 1,2 and 3 are spoken for, I am starting with #4.

You can contact me offline for more information.

Les

I forgot to mention that if you so choose to use your Larry Chew folder for your every day knife(I cant bring myself to do it) Larry will recondition it for $ 25.00,is this standard for most knife makers to offer $ 25.00 recondition or the exception.

Thanks.
Kevin.
