I was perusing some websites, and found many by this particular maker at a pretty attractive price point for me. I really dig the look of one (pictured below), but know absolutely nothing about the maker! Is his work of any quality? Should I even bother?

Google pulls him right up and associates him with some high end retailers, depending on the deal you got a nice edc knife if it's him.

Google pulls nothing up but the website selling the knife and cursory information about the maker - No user feedback or anything!

I've contacted the retailer in question, but I was hoping that some of you guys have had experience with his work. It's a very tempting knife!

Is that a pin crack in the second picture at the barehead end pin of the pile cover? That's not good. Doesn't make much of a presentation picture. Maybe he's know for pin cracks.

The nice looks nice, but F&F seems rather rudimentary (that may be OK of that is the intention, but without any more information I would not bee very optimistic how mechanically sound the knife is).

That dealer has a pretty good rep however I also googled him including Jacksonville Fl and nothing no web page no facebook no reviews. This would make me a little nervous and would probably not buy. Also the price point seems good for a custom or maybe too good to me he either doesn't hold much regard for his own work or when in hand it's subpar. From the photos IMO the grind is a little funky, the pins are up and down, looks like some space between handles and spine and the handles at the liners are a little wavy. For me I would pass.

Yeah, I think that's going to be my position barring whatever the response from the dealer is. I asked for pictures and a mechanical quality estimation (centering, play, etc) - I'll probably just save the cash and put it towards my lanny clip / shadow trapper funds.

Thanks, guys! I was ensnared by the very rustic, almost primordial look, but I see now that it almost surely comes with a very rustic, almost primordial level of fit and finish :P
