Larry,

I hated to use one of your pictures without your permission. Hope you don't mind but I had to in order to ask you this. I was admiring your fantastic collection over in Larry's website and came across a Schrade-Walden knife I didn't recognize.

What is the middle knife's pattern number and what is it called? I never seen one.

G'Day Jackie, No problem with reproducing the photo here mate,
This Schrade Walden came from the factory auction clearance.I believe a pattern they had considered. That is a greenish timber handle. Its a great knife in the hand and balanced.
Wish they had proceeded with the pattern I reckon they would have sold a few out of novelty value alone.Came from the same period of the Frogman Diver with slightly exaggerated gauche swashbuckling styling! That is a full tang I believe meaning full width of handle and not rat tail....
In those photos I compared with more conventional SW's.although the bottom Imperial knife came from the Schrade 'Wall' collection and is the only one of that exact handle shape and pommel I have ever seen as well and is not in the catalogs.
I guess they experimented and I wonder how they gauged potential popularity to proceed to production...perhaps the Schrade Presidents final nod?...I bet Albert was ever present in most decision making .... Thanks for your interest Jackie,Happy Schrading/Trading mate.

P.S. I wish some faithful long serving Schrade employees could come on here and end a lot of our mere suppositions. Would they be welcomed by us all or what...
