Great knives. Some very rare stuff on display there. The website is an asset our "hobby" and I can't say enough how much it is appreciated.

Your link in the first post in this topic goes to Scott's Corner though. Or else Larry's page is mis-labeled at the top...

I also don't understand why the Lake-Walker knives don't get more attention.

Larry,
I've never seen so many Schardes on one table, just awesome! You've amassed quite a collection there. Two questions, where is that Buffalo Bill sharpfinger from and what is the bone handled whittler displayed with the Warren Whittlers?
Eric

...My wife keeps reminding me I only have 2 hands and considerably more knives...she wanted to peel the vegies with the 3OT she reckons would be ideal for that..with only 12 plus in the world I think not.....I take my favourites to bed and clean them and she reckons its disconcerting to see the shadows on the bedroom wall of a Deerslayer just before she goes to sleep!!...Hey as they say I never met a knife I didn't like.........I'm a Schrade nut and have been for years as the photos show...the good thing is I started my collecting long before there was a hint of trouble at Schrade...my first Schrade was the 4 pin LB7 with ornate factory bolster which I still have and I was hooked........Thanks for your comments.Hoo Roo
P.S. lrv has done a marvellous job putting those together even if their listed under Scotts corner!

Eric, The Buffalo Bill Cody is the stag handled 15Ot style Deerslayer from 'American Legends' Tang Schrade+ USA Ltd. with gold etched blade and brass shield. Its a favourite.
The smooth bone red scaled Whittler is Schrade+ Mountain Whittlers Knife Club on Blade 1 of 100, 1982, with MWKC on shield....a most beautiful knife with matching box. Hoo Roo

The link to Larry's knives is correct. Its the text "banner" thats messed up.
Those are Larry's knives . I screwed up on the headers as I was doing both Scotts and Larry's knives at the same time, I will fix em tonight.
The web site is almost as addictive as the actual knives for a old techie like me.
Please check the page out again tomorrow. I can't access the code from work.

Larry,
It's a rare thing to find a custom club knife made by Schrade, VERY nice. Reminds me of the Tennessee-Kentucky whittlers from 1976.
Eric

Eric,
I was wondering when they were from....they're the first Schrades I've owned with the Schrade Cut Co tang stamp. Paid $60 for the pair....wasn't sure if it was a good deal or not but I really liked the knives. Are these the ones you were referring to? Larry.......GREAT collection mate.

Larry, just how big is your house anyways? Sweet Fancy Moses, my wife would kick me out if I had that many......come to think of it, maybe I should start collecting a little harder;)

Ducks and Bucks,
That's a great price, did you get the case with them? They were made for the NKCA, I believe during the Parker reign. The Cutco stamp was a re-introduction for these knives.
Actually, Larry's knife is a dead ringer for the Heritage series red bone whittler from 1983.
Eric

Hey larry, those fingergrooved LB7's I love those, where did you find them beauties at? Is that the embellishers name on the tang?

Eric,No doubt Schrade did the Special order in 1982 for the Mountain Whittlers and then released the knife in 1983. I agree its rare for one of them to be sold by the owner.More likely Deceased Estate sale. My wife always asks what does she do with all the knives if I suddenly die..I always say stick em in an asbestos bag with me as they can go with me...I'll have lots of time to study them then!
MM, Those custom LB7's were done by M Trutschel whose name is inscribed. The work he put in is incredible particularly the handle shapes they fit your hand perfectly. I raised a question on here about them previously but noone replied if they had ever heard of him..I would love to know who he was. Interestingly I bought one on Ebay and then was contacted by a private US seller who said he had one almost identical had never seen another and did I want to buy it...he was not a Schrade collector as such.and I bought it. The way Mr. Trutschel avoided those scale pins with his design he sure put some thought into his design. Go for it MM...you can do it mate!! Hoo Roo

I take my favourites to bed and clean them and she reckons its disconcerting to see the shadows on the bedroom wall of a Deerslayer just before she goes to sleep!!

Mate, your scaring me!!!

Great site. Thanks for sharing it. Your pa's favorite is also one of my favorites. That little Kious/Shrade is a sweet knife.

...and polar movement is caused in part by the shift in the earth's harmonic balance and magnetic fields by all of that Schrade steel leaving America for Australia!!

I agree all, Larry has a premier collection! I do also appreciate his sharing it with us, and his wife for allowing him his hobby. And also lrv for his great work on the collector's website! And if you think it is great now, just you hide and watch. I could tell you what is happening, but then I'd have to... :D

Thanks Larry, I'll have to try to make one, would you mind "lending" me one of those beauties as a pattern? :D
