Just checking to see if anyone owns any of these knives. My cousin knows Dale Larson and has a knife made by him that is quite nice and I was seeing if anyone here has any experience with his blades.

Nothing but praise for Dale and Dale Jr.'s work from me. Great steel, great grind, great price, and can shave a gnat's butt out of the box. The pix on the site really don't do the knives justice and these guys don't get nearly the attention they deserve. Go for for it IMO.

ETA: Dale is a member here, though I don't know if he's ever posted. Also a link for anyone wanting a look. http://www.larsonforgeandfinish.com/

Thanks, Kiah! My cousin's knife was very impressive, but I was unfamiliar with the name.

I personally have several Dale Larson knives in my collection. They have all arrived polished and extremely sharp. I like them for skinning and light duty bushcraft work. They are tough 5160HC but they have such thin, sharp edges that you might ding the edge up quickly with any chopping. They sharpen easily with white ceramic rods/sticks, which is all I use on them. Polished 5160 will stain almost immediately once you start really using it, and these are no different. Since I don't care about the staining and my main concern is performance, I'm pretty happy with my LFF knives and will likely buy more from him when I see new styles. I'd advise anyone to pick one up and I have even given several away as gifts to some very happy hunters.

I just received a camp knife made by Dale Larson. It is a great knife. Great design, very, very sharp, wonderful finish.
I have owned Randalls and Loveless made knives and in all honesty I prefer Dale's work.

You cannot find a better knife.
