Laser Engraving Knives

Hey everyone I am new to this forum. I am an engraver using a laser. I can engrave on stainless just fine my problem is engraving on the darker metals like the beatiful Damascas blades. They need to engrave white and I have tried the pearl white cermark but is is not as pire white as my customers would like. I use a 45 watt epilog laser. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the makers with experience would be helpful to you, that said, some posted pictures of the problem would also help.
