I have not called anyone up yet, such as Admiral, to check on pricing and such. Thought I should first ask advise concerning this here.

I would expect that such profiling would be rough and require finish grinding. Fortunately for me I have a Rob Frink horizontal edge grinder and that makes such finish work little problem. My questions for those here that have paid for this is: is it cost effectve for blanks of quantity 10 or more of the same pattern, and if that be the case whom would you suggest I contact for such service? It is the band sawing of the rough profile I would like to skip if cost effective.

Thanks.

I have Admiral steel laser cut my profesional cutlery blanksfor me.It is baby butt smooth and exact.Done by computer.Send a CAD file,a cardboard pattern,a sketch,or an actual blade, and they can cut it from any steel they carry. It stays on file,so a repeat order will be exactly the same.It is really cheap in quantity (I do 100 blades at a time),reasonable even for a single cut.Saves on waste, since you only pay for the steel you get.The only way to go for ATS-34 and other stainless steels.Call Admiral and ask for Antione Davis,he handles the blade steel.
