My next purchase was a beautiful David Manley hunter in stag with a 3 1/2" mirror polished blade. I knew it would fit right in my stag collection between my Russ Easler skinner and GenO Denning #6 hunter. If any of you aren't familiar with David's work he makes beautiful knives at a price that'll make you feel like you're taking advantage of him, but he seemed to be happy with the deal.

That's it for me for my Blade Show 2001 handmade knife purchases, four knives and one Mini. All in all I'm a very happy camper, and I had a wonderful time. Of course I saw hundreds of knives and dozens of new makers for me. I know there's going to be a Hawk in my near future, I saw so many nice ones. Of all the knives I wish I could have afforded the one that stands out in my mind was on the table of Wano Knives and Tommy Ware of Datil, NM. What was so special about this knife was it was a beautiful little traditional one blade folder, but it was also a bolster release auto, a knife I know I could get away with carrying every day. Of course it was in stag.
