I don't live by any woods, and it has been awhile since I used my Busse to clean any game, but recently we speared this little baby (its a Grouper of 104lbs) and my Steelheart did the honors.....by the way, it did not need a sharpening afterwards. Isn't INFI a wonderful thing??!

Marc,

That fish isn't too small, I usually use my INFI fangs and catch those little ones in my mouth. Otherwise I lash a Basic 9 to a 10 foot pole and spear them. Hehe, that is one damn big fish, I am surprised it didn't eat you :) I love pictures like this one. You hear that guys? Post more of these kind of pictures.

Your in nuclear fishing,
Jeff

Marc,
That is a huge fish! What kind is it? The most recent thing I used my BM-e on was the deer me and a friend shot this past late season. I used it for chopping bone and removing the heads. Worked great!

Now thats what we need more of...action!!! nice catch...and
happy Easter to all you wonderful Busse forumlites...the King
has risen!!!!!!

Not bad, but nothing compared to the catfish we've got up here :p

Seriously though, that fish brings back some great memories. What kind of a spear did you use

contender - In the immortal words of Maxwell Smart, "That's the second biggest fish I've ever seen!"

Lukers - Exactly how many heads did that deer have? ;)

Marc, where I come from that would be the bait fish.

Actually, that fish is HUGE!!!

The last thing I cleaned (with my Basic #5) was the deer I shot last season...plus my brother's deer, and his friend's deer.

Yes, I got the old "Well now that I shot it, I have to go to work...Can you clean this for me?"

That fish was speared about 100 miles due west of St Petersburg Florida out in the Gulf of Mexico . We leave early morning, drive for about 2.5 hrs (standing all the way) find our spots and dive. Most of our dives are in water about 125ft or so; the worst part of the day is after getting up before light, diving all day, then having that long drive home.

We use 52 inch spearguns with 4 ft shafts. Due to the size of the fish we hunt we do not attach the shafts to our guns with lines. It would be too dangerous if you got caught up in the lines and were dragged too deep or until your air ran out. Plus we use multiple shafts on a single gun.

I am still looking for Jerry to make a dive knife, until such time my coated Steelheart works fine. What I would really like is an INFI dagger that can deliver a brain kill on a struggling fish. A fish this size can bend a 4 ft stainless shaft like a pretzel and kick your butt underwater no problem; anything you can do to incapacitate him quickly is important.

thanks for the comments guys !!

Marc. Thats the biggest blackfish I've ever seen.;) Niiice. Think freeshafting is a good idea here. Imagine the one way ride that bad boy would take you on. EC

Hows about fed-xing me some fillet! Great catch and its a great fish to eat! Take care!

Man Marc, let's fry that puppy up! Go for the biggest Po' Boy sammich yet!!

Mike

Man am I envious!!

...was 126 lbs. I happen to have it mounted in my house! Let me know if you would like to see a pic!

Oh wow! That's not a fish it's a hell spawn. Fish grow that large?!!!! How did we ever determine that man was the dominant species on this planet, that fish could break out a can of woop ass on all of us :D

Marc, I a pic of the fishy mounted on your wall!!!
