Email sent on Kobra and BDC

Edit: Changed my mind am going to pass on the Kobra

Ok I waited 15 FULL minutes before sending an email on the Tarwar. I'm a little emotional right now. Half wants it to be gone other half certainly does not.

EMS on Kobra

Edit: Jumped on Kobra before checking my paycheck. I'm, sadly, passing. Sorry for inconvenience.

Decided that I really did not need it and that a siru would be better fit. Anything I pick up will be a user and I don't really need a fighter. Trying to be a bit responsible

Later on once I pick up a few others on the list then maybe I will pick up ones like this that I don't really need

Feel a little guilty about snapping both of these steals up, ya'll.
But you have got to be quick around here, Sheesh!

Ok,now I got a nice sample of styles by 3 different kamis now.
I wont snatch any more up till i see my dream kukris. The YCS... and Di-Chirra.

But then, its ON like Donkey-Kong! Fair warning....I have a 10gb main-line trunk fiber connection at the datacenter, and my mouse clicker finger is always itchy. LOL :)

Glad I grabbed my Dui Chirra a week before you showed up!!!:D I don't know if you'll see a YCS posted on the DOTD; you might have to special order one (they seem to be pretty rare).

Good luck on the Tarwar, danboy (hope you're not 14 minutes too late)...it is a beautiful blade.

I would have snapped the BDC up if you hadn't. Congrats:) As much as I love my big choppers/slicers, having a stout "little" khuk around as an EDC is handier.

I saw that one! After the fact.
But honestly, i had no idea about HI or Dui CHirra anything till this monday.
Yangdu is such a nice person to do business with too. She even combined the shipping for me.
I need to get a kami sheath with the savings...

How do you like the Chirra, seems like a really good brush knife, but not so much of a strong chopper. Saplings and branches about an 1". Is that right?

The CAK and G-Rams are more like hand axes, and with a little knife. The Chirra seems like more knife less axe. Is that an accurate assessment?

My Dui Chirra is a really nice blade; well-made and very sharp. I haven't had a chance to put it through it paces yet. It has a forward balance and should make a great chopper, though I'm not sure why it isn't warranted for hard use (same construction as WWII and Ganga Ram)....maybe the blade edge is too thin? I'm working on refinishing the handle now. Not sure about the asare wood; reminds me of oak or ash (very porous) but not as pretty....feels like it should be very durable, though. Still debating whether to use lemon oil or mineral oil for the handle. I really like the villager finish on the blade but it seems to require a little more upkeep than the polished blades because it's not smooth, and the surface impressions can trap moisture, dirt, rust. I'll let you know how it performs after I can try it out.

Good luck w/ your YCS quest!!!

Ya I liked the 14" BDC I picked up a couple weeks ago so should be interesting to see how this one is. Hopefully the handle fits me better than the Bilton I had picked up. Can also swap back and forth with the kerambit I picked up

I recommend the lemon oil for the reasons I mention here:

Not familiar with asare wood, but if it is porous as you say, i might even try some pine rosin.

Had to back out of Kobra. Jumped before checking paycheck. Mistake. Very sorry for the inconvenience.
