2 Days ago pulled all the traps on the small line that I usually walk every year with snowshoes. Its an 8 mile roundtrip.
It was such a beautiful day -17c conditions for walking were excellent.
The dog carried an empty pack,as I went along and up the trail I would spring the traps and leave them to the side.On the way back I would carry one trap until I reached the next then place one in each side of the dog pack to even out the load
Libby with an empty pack
The knife du jour.A DP Camper, like this blade for the uses I find when out.
Next few shots are just of scenery and a few animal tracks.
When finished trapping for the season I like to see some tracks of the animals I target.Marten ermine coyote mink and such.I saw around 5-6 marten tracks very good. Proper population management is always a concern for us trappers
The hunted snowed in snowshoe hare and a persuing marten
The lunch fire
I do enjoy getting out, have hundreds of square miles for me to play in.
Bushcraft skills are used by me on all these trips been doing it for years.Im grateful for this webpage and others that I can share my times with and learn from you guys/gals.
Last time I posted I was extremely busy with trapping and didnt answer a few questions, knida bothered me SO I will try my best this time with some answers
Thanks for looking
