I carried a Benchmade Mini-Mel Pardue for years IWB, but lately I've been trading my BMs for Microtechs. What would be a good MT to replace it with?

It would have to be coated (anything but bead-blast considering where it's going considering rust) and partially serrated. Auto or Manual.

What would be a COMFORTABLE small MT knife to carry IWB kidney-placement EDC?

i would try a mini-SOCOM, either MA or an auto, i used to carry my LCC like that a while back and it worked fine for me, a bigger knife though.

I think that you would be best served with the Kestral for a last ditch knife. Although not a cheap knife it is very usefull for defense due to the hawkbill blade. I have had a few over the years, and they are awesome! The clip design it has was excellent for IWB.

I've got one of the frame-locks coming in the mail. I hadn't considered it but it's a good idea. I was thinking a MUDT or something, but I like the Socom idea better. I might get part-serrated auto one too.
