No criticisms here! That's a beautiful knife! Anyone would be more than proud to own that one.

Give us a couple factoids, if you don't mind:
(1) How long is the blade?
(2) How many hours do you think you have in it?

1) just under 3", maybe 2.875 or so, idk exact as I shipped the knife today to the customer.
2) a fair question but idk. I just finished 1 year as a full-time maker. I look at my "performance" on a monthly basis and aggregate output. Also this is my first Damasteel blade and it always takes 3x the time to do it the first try. I had to learn and execute the heat treat and I don't do much stainless,
Probably the most efficient way is to batch process 3 or 4 knives. The finishing on this steel is more than I'm used to, also the finishing on the handle is time consuming,
so perhaps it is 4 days if everything goes right.....

I like the overall shape of the blade and handle. The damascus backspring really looks nice! My personal taste, I would like the handles all stag, instead of having 2 different materials. Very nicely done!

Backspring and liner work is really impressive, what a way to finish the year

I too would probably prefer all Stag scales or use Micarta/Burlap as the contrast.

Time you hosted a GAW :D:D:cool:

I would love all stag scales as well :-). However as they get longer, they become harder to find good flat stag, thus it costs a lot more for that extra inch..

Give us a couple factoids,

Here's a good factoid. The design influence of this model shape is from a fixed slim hunter I own from Howard Hitchmough. when I contacted Howard to use the design he said no problem, and added - "...and you don’t need to thank me, but the late Bob Loveless whose pattern I think it originally was."

here's the slim hunter, I need to revisit my blade shape as I think I want to put less belly in it.

I'm a traditional knife pin guy. So, I'm not fully digging the torx screws but that's a personal preference. The damascus blade and spring are sweet looking. When I first looked at the pic showing the spring, the damascus pattern flashed an image of file work in my mind's eye because of the wavy pattern of the damascus. After a quick double take I realized it was the Odin's eye playing a trick on my eye. (LOL) The stag is super nice too. It looks even on each side and matched well from what I can see. The blade and spring meet straight and square. The detailed milling work can be seen on the liners near where the blade meets the spring. I imagine it's as good and even down around the pivot too. The work is even and exact. It's very clean and precise. You've done a excellent job and it looks awesome IMO!

I checked out your instagram too- the fixed blade funayuki pattern with snakewood scales is BA! I really like the tapered tang. You're obviously an excellent artist with precision skill.

Truly stunning! Beautiful work!

I like the bolster contrast, especially on the bias like that. Maybe try them in matching Damasteel or ebony?
