Went to an auction last night that had a huge collection of schrade knives. Shortly before going i looked at a few online pics of what was going to be there. I did a short search online and saw that the Schrade company was no longer in business??? I got in early as the bidding started and purchased 2 knives that I liked. It was shortly thereafter that 3 men started going at it. One man seemed to have a list he was looking at everytime a new one came up. And I'll bet he spent a few hundred dollars easily. The auctioneer asked him a few times about the stampings. I believe he said the "s" was stainless and depending on the model, if that "s" was before or after the number, one meant surgical stainless. I guess i am not into it enough to know the difference between surgical and say 440.
I was curious if there is a way to date these and what they could be valued at. The first is a Quail Unlimited, 3 blade.
The stamp on the blade says Schrade USA LTD. The flying quail on the side and Quail Unlimited on the blade. The fitted box has no writing on it at all.

And the 2nd being a Schrade Scrimshaw with 3 ducks on the side. The stamp on the blade says Schrade+ USA 505sc No box or anything with it.
This pic was from the auction site itself.

I am hoping I did good on each. Although i think they are neat. Paid 27.50 for the scrimshaw and 15.00 for the quail. The guy with the list came in a bit later which was probably a good thing.

You can do a Completed Items search on eBay and see what collectors normally pay.

The scrimshaw models are relatively common and sell for about what you paid, or a little more.
I've never seen a QU knife like yours, but then again I've never looked either. :)

Just a heads-up. Bladeforums has a new policy regarding asking values. They assume that if someone asks "Whats my knife worth?" that the person is actually soliciting sales. It might be a good idea to edit that part out of your original post.
