I've been telling myself 3 or 4 knives ago I need to stop making knives and make sheaths. This is the last one till I get the leather work taken care of. Got the inspiration for this knife from the piece before it. I wanted to make pretty much the same blade shape except a little larger. Blade on this one is 12 7/8" out of Aldo's 1084. Iron fittings and a stab. piece of gold dyed zebrawood from Gallery Hardwoods. Overall its 19" and weighs right around 1 pound.

that is VERY cool!

actually, all of those are awesome, as are your avatar blades...

that handle makes me giggle a little bit.

ray...i love that handle shape....is it based on a design you saw or?....it looks historic or something.....i feel like i've seen it on old knives somewhere....or am i just going crazy....ryan

That sure is a beauty.I got to agree on the wood part (glad it wasnt me who said it first :).
A piece of black african ebony for a handle would put that baby into another world. Its a beautiful blade

make that a spike on the butt cap and you'll get 'em coming and going!

Not thrilled with the choice of wood, maybe, but the shape looks like it goes with the overall lines of the knife... Looking forward to see your work, Ray, in Eugene!

I could be wrong, but I didn't think people were commenting on the choice of wood so much as the phallus-esque handle shape :o

:p

I really like the overall style though Ray... You're FAST!
