Started working on this hawk Sunday and I've been going like a madman trying to get it finished. I just need to put a couple coats of sealer on it but its done other than that. I've been wanting to try a spike like this for sometime now and wasn't sure if I could pull it off but I did. It will open a beer in a blink of an eye. The head is 8", 3" cutting edge, and the spike is 2 1/2" from the back of the eye. The haft is 19" with a wrought iron doda.

Very Medeval looking . Speaking of opening a beer bottle with it ? How far away is the bottle when you throw the hawk ?

Maybe you had to do a madman work for this one, but let me tell you it was worth the pain and the time spent on it.
Simply awesome...

Here's a couple hunting axes I'll have with me at Blade. Both have just under 4" cutting edges and both have hickory hafts.
