Its just fitted together at this time but might as well go ahead and post it. This is another saw steel blade and I'm thinking now I had some more shear steel that I didn't know I had. Wrought iron fittings and blackwood handle. 4" blade and 8" overall.

Bruce, You have a good New Year also....

Dan, this is the second one I've done the slot with. I just stick it in the forge and heat it up and then use a piece of steel the same thickness as the blade and just forge the slot into it. I'm still trying to perfect it, each time I do it it gives me another idea on how to do it.
