Made this one for a mate, a surprise ;)
His knife has a blue/black G10 and black coated blade, so I went with black and a blue cane toad inlay.
The riser has shifted somewhat when I was clamping, so not 100% happy with it, but overall I'm satisfied.

From his horse riding days he seems to like a high riding sheath, he's a lefty, I've tilted the clip slightly so it would be at slight angle to aid in taking out and re-sheathing.

Any comments, good and bad, are welcome, I need some feedback from folks who can comment on the making side, not just gracious recipients ;)

That Blue Toad is really cool .
But I see enough real Cane Toads everyday up here to satisfy me . I'll send you a ute full of dead ones if you want :)
I think those clips are a great idea , I might have to get some myself , how well and tight do they hold the sheath on your belt ?
I can't comment on the technical aspects as I've never made a sheath like that , but to my eye it looks mighty fine .

Ken,
The clip that I used for this sheath is quite sturdy, about 1mm thick, I'd imagine it'd go strong for quite a long while. There are smaller ones that probably work better for folder sheaths.
For now you can keep them :D I'll let you know when I can tan them... ;)

Very nice! The colored toad is so pretty! I don't like frogs (they freak me out), but I'd have no qualms about using their hide. ;)

Why did you stitch around the clip? Interesting, and it looks great.

I just wanted to make sure that in case the cement lets go at some point the clip won't move...

And the additional stitching pulls closer the 2 layers of leather. Or so I believe...

As I wrote in the other inlaid sheath thread, I've spent very little time researching and mostly go with my gut feeling on how to do things...
