As you all might remember I posted a picture of a piece of Exhibition Box Elder last week. It had a small blemish exposed but as I approached the finish shape on the handle the blemish was a great deal larger and I asked what you all would do. AS a conclusion to your comments, a few welcomed e-mails and a phone call from my good friend Fitz. I decided to contact the knife supply store and tell them the problem, they imediately responsed saying "they would send me another piece A.S.A.P", and they did. Here's the piece they sent me all finished out. Thank you all for your throughts and opinions.

OAL- 12 1/2" w'- 7 1/2" blade. One of a kind mosaic damascus, blued guard, pommel and pommel nut. Beautiful piece of exhibition box elder.

Damn fine piece of wood. Good job and well worth the wait to do it right.

as an aquaintence is fond of saying: "that's Finer than five Frawg Hairs!"

That's a little bit of change in style for you, but it works extremely well!!!

I'm glad the wood issue turned out so well, Bill. It's nice to know that customer satisfaction is still a consideration for that supplier.

Well, Mr B, I must say that one was worth waiting for to see! Coooool steel (I'm calling it "Lips"), neat blade, and the handle and furniture turned out beautiful! "Two thumbs-up", bud!

That is a beautiful knife and a gorgeous piece of wood. I really like the damascus / box elder combination - I have one such knife an it is among my favorites. No doubt your customer will be pleased.

Cheers,

Roger

Thanks all, Yes as fitz said, customer satisfaction does matter to this supplier and I will be doing more business with them, even though I said I wouldn't a week ago. Anger of the time, got to me a little, next time I won't be so loose with my tongue before I give them a chance.

Michael, shoot I have no set style, whatever hits me in the mornings when I get up is my style. :D

Thanks again.

Don't you really mean which side of the head Pud hits you upside with that frying pan?? :D

Bill, I really like that handle!

The wood, guard and end piece are a great blend. No really, I really like it.

My kinda guy.

That's more like it Bill. Very nice. The handle wood brings the whole package together.

Dang Bill, that's beautiful! Glad it worked out with your supplier.

I have a tendency to let my negative expectations get ahead of me once in a while and it ususally just makes me feel foolish when everything turns out fine. But I never seem to learn.

Looking good Bill, glad everything worked out for you with the supplier. Sounds like there are still a few good buisnesses out there.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, I'm sure glad I replaced the handle, that blemish really took the classy look away from this knife.

Fitz, it's a wonder I don't make bells with all this ringing in my head, I'm sure glad the cast iron skillets are out of reach. :D

Thanks,

Bill

Beautiful knife and fine handle Bill!
I love the pommel and the little button on the end of it!
What function does the button have and how is it held on?
Michael

Michael, I just got back in town from a long weekend. The tang is threaded. the cap is drilled and threaded all the way through and screwed to the tang, the nut is drilled and threaded and screwed to the tang over the cap.

Thanks

Bill
