Hi guys,

It recently came to light in another thread that our mate Gassy has one stand-up gal as a wife (as I'm sure you all do). My wife too is very supportive of my (rather expensive) hobby..

However..

I just bought myself some TKC G10 scales for my BK7, my BK16 and my BK14 along with a lovely set of Kydex duds (pants) for each. Actually went with a piggy back dangler set up for the 7 and 14 and a MOLLE sheath for the 16. This cost me an @R$ELO@D (damn your expensive US currency!).

I'm writing this to you, my horribly awesome influences of friends as in approximately 4 hours (when she sees the credit card bill) I shall meet my death at the hands of my sweet little wife with one of the blades I so dearly love (she'll choose the 9 I bet).

Anyway, I just got really excited (hmmm, maybe a poor choice of words considering my impending doom) and wanted to share this with you all. Of course, I have no pics yet but I assure you all SHE will share them with you so you can all see what lead me to an early grave.. But seriously I can't wait to get these things, they're gonna rock!

(To the wonderful Mods: this of course is tongue-in-cheek, and I hope this is not taken as poor taste so please don't think I'm actually going to die in a brutal blood bath. Because then you'll all start fighting over my collection and we can't have that now can we.. Can we?)

@Tanglediver: I appreciate the sentiment mate. It seems I've survived the day however. It's nice to know that someone cares about a potentially fallen brethren though.

On the plus side, no ramifications means I can buy more stuff right?

Hehe, 999 was my lot casted which is the highest so I'd get first pick, it's sorta an RPG thing :D

I have a feeling you'll be ok.

Either A: she's use to it and she'll shrug it off and say there's your early Father's Day, anniversary, and/or birthday gift
Or B: she'll stake a claim to a portion of your new load

Whatever the case may be, we're here for you brother.

Thanks Slice for being there for me buddy. You are right though, she did just shrug it off. I was probably being a bit melodramatic but I genuinely forgot about the exchange rate (74USc per AUS$) until after I ordered it all. I was just clicking on stuff going "these things are going to be SO cool!".

As for the binge thread, yeah, that's definitely therapy for me. Or is it more of a challenge now? "This is how many knives I bought". "Oh yeah! Well, this is how many I bought!" :D

Sorry Bladite, still alive buddy. The worst I got was an eye-roll, a head-shake, a sweet little smile and a "you better get me some cool scales next time you order something". She really wants the Pink Kabar scales for her 5.

BUT if she really does lose her bickies one day mate, you can have my beloved 7, I promise!

damn, i knew i should have gotten her the better bottle of scotch :> always a gamble.
