I purchased a Cold Steel 1917 Frontier Bowie last year to add it to my collection of "Man Gadgets". Anyhow, with my recently discussing this bowie and my truly being happy with having added it to my collection, it lead me today into ordering the Cutlass. The Cold Steel 1917 Cutlass seems to be the sword that inspired Cold Steel to come out with their 1917 Frontier Bowie.
The Cutlass itself is pretty much a rendition of the U.S. Navy 1917 Cutlass. On the other hand, the 1917 Frontier Bowie has it's own identity, not being a copy of another Bowie, or even being a short copy of the 1917 Cutlass, (but certainly inspired by it).
I will have to wait a few days for it's delivery, and I have my fingers crossed that the specimen I receive will be as well made overall as my Frontier Bowie ☺

bought it for using, having fun with it or for a collection only to mount on a wall?

i got the machete cheapo version and man is that thing great. i hate to admit it since i am a latin style machete fan by nature, but that design i find more useful.

enjoy your newest when it shows up.

I just collect these sorts of things... I call it my "Man Gadget Collection". I call it that because of how diverse in scope it has become. I surely enjoy it ☺

And, thanks! ☺
