I used a new spacer on the latchless bali, and radiused it on a small wheel which looks pretty cool (imo).i also added a safe handle itentifier.i got the idea from a typhoon our pal Dawkind did wayyy back.i think its great! orabge peel on the entire bali.to date this ones my fav..,something about latchless that just gets me i did my take on a flat clip bowie, you've seen it before.this one just has less belly and is ground on a 3" wheel and swedge on a 1.5" wheel.also made rounded ears..,you'll see more of this!!

Forgive my ignorance, but I dont know much about Bali's. Does it stay closed? I REALLY like your grinds and the finih you put on them.

Shawn

Bali's need a latch to stay closed. This one, as the maker put it, is "latchless," and it does not stay closed on its own. It has to be sheathed to stay closed. You can still cut because squeezing force on the handle keeps the knife open. While being latchless may toll on portability/usability, some avid flippers prefer it latchless because the latch whips around and nick the butt of the other handle and also creates imbalance in weight distribution.

Another great one, Shawn (the maker)! I'm a lurker, but I've been watching your work ever since you started posting them. They're all amazing, but the aggressive clip on this blade is over the roof.

Thanks guys!!

Kkim, hit the nail on the head..,i personally prefere latchless!although it does require a sheath to really carry as an edc!i think this one will take a trip to MR Graley here soon to be fitted for a custom horizontal sheath!

That is one sweet looking bali there! Nicely done and if she does make a trip
to get leathered up, I'll be waitin with a smile ;)

Swengen, you're gonna love it :)

If I get time, the horns on this are much wider than those on a regular Benchmade
good for guarding, bad for sheathing, as I'll need to leave the area near the end of
the sheath stitched a little wider to allow the horns to pass through.

See this thread in the leather section for a few shots of the sheath

and here are a few shots of Shawn's knife, lovely knife it is Shawn, well done sir!

Compared to my modified BM43
Shawn's handles are shorter but his blade is longer than the BM, nice ;)

IMG_0742.jpg

as you can see here, the handles are a bit thicker as is the blade on Shawn's

Gary, those are amazing pictures! Thank you for posting them. The sheath is perfect as is the knife. Come on Monday! :D

You're welcome, I do apologize for the quality, as they were quickly shot
didn't have time for light boxes and all that jazz, but, you can get the idea
of how it looks.
